On behalf of Chuck, this author wishes to express a sincere thanks to President George W. Bush, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and their staff for at least doing what they could regarding Chuck's case. Their actions taken on his behalf at least made Chuck very happy for a brief time before the monster growled again. Nobody in previous administrations cared or would have responded so promptly. Sometimes it matters less what we accomplish and only that the effort was made.

WARNING -- In regard to Vitamin C megadose, the reader is strongly warned to seek physician assistance since too much given too soon is also noted as being potentially lethal to cancer patients.
PT002 Information: Male. Age 67. Apache-Mexican. 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran (USMC).
Patient History: The following story may be slightly inaccurate due to this author's having never viewed the patient's service records as of this writing -- only his wounds, scattered records, and reconstructed memories. The history is compiled from the fuzzy testimony of PT002 (Chuck).
PT wears the Silver Star with 1 or 2 Oak Leaf clusters and 2 or 3 Purple Hearts. PT states "Silver Star with 2 Oak Leaf" (three awards) and same for Purple Heart. DoD has never disagreed with his claim nor confirmed it.
PT always wanted to be a Catholic priest since a boy. Joined the USAF underage and wound up in Korea as an ambulance driver. Lost a brother, KIA (USMC), in Korea. In Korea, PT002 came across a wounded Marine lying in the mud. Took fire. Hoofed it. Carried the Marine, their rifles, and their packs to an aid station far away. Wound up hospitalized with a broken back and neck for 1 year after that. Received his first Purple Heart and Silver Star there.
PT002 possibly picked up another PH and SS after that in Vietnam, but he does not recall the specifics -- something about being ambushed by VC while sitting around with buddies in a hooch, jumping out a window, and continuing to fight; Later, he awoke among medivac and another hospital stay.
After watching too many youngsters die under his command (often butchered in the jungle and hung upon posts by VC), the psycho Apache warrior / butcher emerged somewhere around here instead of gentle priest/ medic. As typical of genuine "war criminals" of some form of conscience, PT002 continues to live in guilt over his "sins" to this day; Goes to church almost daily if he isn't in pain; Prays every day; Swears up and down that Christ and Mary carried him all his life. He is an odd mixture of psycho bear always trying to be gentle; Always hating war and killing, yet he remains highly prone to brawling and vulgarity. So far, he hasn't killed anyone among his periodic conflicts --- which tend to ensue just about everywhere. Angry Man Syndrome, I call it, but a real good guy and the finest of friends. Much like a Rottweiller alpha male, you just can't take him anywhere that gentle or timid dogs congregate!
Final PH/SS came in Vietnam. PT had swapped over to the Marines and was then a Gunny Sarge assigned to SOG black ops in Laos (Part of the mystery to his service history, no doubt. U.S., of course, never was there. Chuck was part of the Navy UDT -- Underwater Demolitions Team; Pre- Navy SEAL's). Later, he was promoted to Warrant Officer among Aircraft Observer ops. Resigned commission after that and returned to being a grunt due to disagreement over how the war was being run (First view of his trouble-maker side!).
According to his testimony, PT002 last fell in Laos and spent another 5 years locked in VA hospitals often drugged up or "wrestled down and beaten by men in white suits." He was later assigned to a working bed rest with veterans, was honorably discharged in the 1980's, and continues hobby work -- albeit more like a blind rabble rouser leading the already blind and very pissy -- as a Veterans Advocate. Always making trouble -- sometimes appropriate, sometimes not. This author has confirmed that a local congressman commended him years ago for his work with veterans. We also know that he decked his wife's divorce attorney in court and that they later became pals. So, an interesting fellow he is! Charming in an obnoxious sort of way.
NOTE: After years of VA kicking this old Marine around, it was the offices of the President and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld which dropped what they were doing and talked some sense into the VA's idiots within 7 days of hearing about him. Though this author knows better than to ask of the Marine's exact service history, we can confirm that VA was then calling the Marine with great apology and to inform him that, yes, he was a Marine and his service records were not lost after all. The Marine's most polite response was: "F you, Mo fos!"
After a polite and heart-warming letter was composed for the Marine by this author, it had been acted upon properly. The Marine was thrilled. Then, he went right back to his troublemaking ways and talk of suing for millions or this and that; "F the white man! He used my people and trashed us. The country is going to Hell. Armageddon is soon at hand. Any day now, we vets are going to get together, take up arms, and march on Washington." Either that, or he's trying to find a pretty Mexican girl to be his nursmaid and he talks of retiring in Mexico.
So, God only knows what kind of troublemaking or letter writing he's been doing when left alone. He presently wants this author to draft him another polite letter like the first one sent out, but about 90% of his grumblings cannot be fixed. One also has to be careful in composing letters for this man! Heck, Secret Service was at his residence once many years ago after the Marine gave shelter to a deranged veteran who later became a "suicide case". Whether a real or staged suicide, this author does not know and, likewise, does not question the need for that veteran to have been put down given the kind of threats he was making and the nature of weaponry he is reported to have procured (a Stinger missile). For a suicide case, the vets chatter that the man's head was oddly never found. Hmmm....fishy. Whether a true story or fiction, it would be nothing new under the sun among caesars and the new Roman Empire. You just don't acquire toys like that and make threats against the caesar no matter how bad a Nero he is. Stuff like that does get a guy whacked and nobody cares. That's the nature of the game. Whether truth or fiction, it was an appropriate kill this author does not disagree with. Very sad and the deranged veteran surely had good cause, but broken arrows do have to be put down and made an example of in order to keep our temporary kings secure and scary. Whether good or evil, an attempted attack upon the "king" is an assault upon the nation, the People, the law, and the Republic. Everything breaks down if you allow it and do not squash such things with extreme visciousness. That Chuck was left alive among such a far-fetched tale at least tells us fairly good and judicial agents were part of the archer team. Nothing new under the sun.
Secret Service note: Fear not! This author has no confirmation or significant witness of that story. It's the chatter of an old vet on oodles of meds and some of his vet pals over beer. Possibly all bullshit, but, then again, these are honest and good men. I tell the tale because it should be told and it at least lets other angry veterans out there know how things go when they get too crazy. All potential problems to that story no longer exist, so don't worry about it. It's the service's privy to do such things. Doesn't matter if the king was bad. Your sins and secrets are the least of the ugly things we've seen. To the OIC there, I would even pass a sincere thank you for leaving my buddy, Chuck, untouched. I didn't know him at the time of the incident, but, as you investigated, he was an innocent Vet Advocate just trying to help a crazy, old, homeless vet. Somebody's head had to be taken. I understand that concept. Oh, I suppose the Hippies would have a problem with it as "government abuse" or whatever, but we keep a secret service exactly for such ugly duties. Doesn't matter if they're heroic, old veterans or foreign bad guys, I like living in a country where the king's guard does take heads still and answers to none other than the king. That's the way it's supposed to be done and I'm not sucking up here. It was an appropriate kill. I'd do the same. That's all I'll ever say on the matter.
As for PT002, he is generally harmless and symptomatic of the many neglected veterans out there who were going stir crazy until a fairly good man was put back in Office. Though psycho himself, the old Marine has no relation to the various crazies off the street who sometimes seek his help in procuring VA claims. That would seem to explain why he is not in jail today or headless.
There is nothing much to be done for men like this other than to hear their grievances, act upon them at times where their requests are reasonable and justified, and to just let them rest content that the country is okay. Or, you lie to them when it is not. Though it is more than the old man can handle, we continue to encourage his interest in pretty Mexican girls or beer and this at least has him thinking of nicer things other than politics and decay of the Republic for another day.
Given the response time to his letter, though we don't know his exact service history, it is safe to say he's the real deal. Two or three Purple Hearts and Silver Stars? Nobody here really cares. For some men, the Silver Star is a lifetime achievement to be hung on a wall and polished daily. For others, it is a decoration they never even approach. For this grumpy old bear, he doesn't even recall where he put them nor when he threw away his uniform. His youngest son doesn't even think he was ever a Marine and figures all his wounds come from some bad car accident. There are the fakers who boast of their deeds in Vietnam or any war and then there are guys like this who simply live there today as if it was the best and worst time of their life.
Total combat wounds: Broken back, broken neck, broken ribs, broken other; Shrapnel still embedded in neck and spinal areas (causing PT much pain); AK-47 shot through left side abdomen; Shrapnel through neck/ throat/ face (neck and facial reconstructive surgery); Shrapnel to L side skull (some brain damage, metal plate installed); Machine gunned both legs; Bayoneted in lung/ punctured lung. All wounds and X-rays inspected by this author; Lots of shrapnel still embedded in the neck, back, and cranial region; Numerous pins among a very patched up skeleton.
Psychological Factors: PT is called "psychotic" by VA goofies who don't understand him. He is more properly described as a giant and gentle grizzly bear of a man, a good man, with perhaps some missing marbles, beaten one time too many on the head, and generally suffering from what we call Angry Man Syndrome. PT is described as generally obnoxious to strangers; Difficult to take anywhere; Generally crotchety and a troublemaker; Unhappy unless fighting somebody or something somewhere; Kind only to children, his grandchildren, or veterans; Sometimes nice to women (especially if pretty; If ugly, forget it.). Won't listen unless you curse vulgarities at him, bribe with beer, or give direct orders. Such a monster is this man that his black labrador is a very timid, wussy guard dog. We gave him a far meaner Rottweiller (my boy, Max) to guard his house, and even that dog ran away scared!
Ailments: Chronic back/ neck pain, Angina / Arteriosclerosis, prior mild Heart Attack, and earlier Prostate Cancer. Had a radical prostectomy (prostate removal) years prior. PT has also been experiencing chronic bleeding for years now --- losing about 1/4 cup of blood in his stool and sometimes the urine near daily. Of course, the PT has certainly lost far more blood before. Doctors apparently dismissed it as acceptable or insignificant among PT miscommunication or neglect. PT, being a troublemaker, is not always welcome at hospitals. More like a bull in a china shop, doctors seem to prefer that he just go off and die.
CHRONOLOGY
11/29/03 -- This author went out to fetch PT002 after learning of his internal bleeding. He had mentioned it prior, but, among many ramblings, the author thought he was speaking of wounds years ago. It is sometimes difficult to sort the PT's talking of the present or past. PT indicated that he had a recent mild heart attack. Now, he was indicating dizziness, weakness, blood in the stool, and blood in the urine. PT refused to go to the doctor by telephone and apparently had the condition for several weeks prior. So, this author figured to fetch the PT, nurse him a bit, and take him to some sharp doctors outside of VA.
Arrived to find Chuck fairly skinny, pale, and cold since last seen. Dizziness, weakness, pain in left arm, and loss of appetite over 2 months. No eating in days. Examined his stool and found significant bleeding present which he said had been going on for a long time (Months or years? Couldn't get the story straight from him.). Bleeding seems to have been long-term chronic and intermittent -- sometimes in heavier flows for days on end; Sometimes gone for a couple days at a time. Considered fairly normal to the patient.
Being lighter in color and infrequent, this author figured it to be non-arterial in nature and probably from the lower GI tract; Lost in quantities of about 1/4 to 1/2 cup per day. Also, found PT blood pressure fairly elevated and symptomatic of Arteriosclerosis. BP log as follows:
16:25 147/96 Pulse 78
164/92 Pulse 80 (Retest; L. arm)
16:57 161/91 Pulse 80
17:30 171/104 Pulse 70 (Rt. Arm)
143/87 Pulse 88 (L. Arm)
17:40 156/99 Pulse 84 (Rt. Arm)
19:42 160/85 Pulse 80 (L. Arm)
22:43 169/94 Pulse 86
11/30/03
08:50 156/98 Pulse 76
15:16 151/89 (sleeping)
17:26 167/98 Pulse 80
Interview of PT and search of house revealed the following medications:
Ibuprofen 800 mg/day (evenings)
Diazepam 10mg x 3/day (night)
Gemfibrozil 600mg x 2/ day
Hydrocodone 500 mg x 3/ day (sometimes he takes more)
Acetaminophen
Diphenhydramine HCL 50 mg x 2-3/ night
Phenytoin 100 mg (for seizures)
Atenelol 25 mg for blood pressure (says he quit under doctor's advice)
Temazapam 15 mg (now and then)
Triamterene 75 mg (unknown usage; PT doesn't recall)
Oxycodone HCL 20 mg (for pain)
Trixaicine HP topical cream (for pain)
Based on patient requests, this author did not take PT002 to ER. From 11/29/03, I began treating him as follows:
4000 mg Vitamin C (taken at 2000 mg doses in the a.m. and p.m.) -- for general health, dietary absorption, bleeding.
1 adult multivitamin (Centrum A-Z; All we had on hand)-- for general health & malnutrition repair.
1/2 to 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (taken as a raw powder or powder installed into capsules about 1/4 teaspoon per dose) -- for arterial dilation, break up of any blood clotting, equalization of blood pressure, repair and reduction of internal bleeding, blood cleansing, and general health. For the average-sized man, 1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper per day is a general health dose. About 1 Teaspoon (sometimes 1 Tablespoon ) is the dosage given for relief of Heart Attack or Stroke in around 3 minutes. PT002's dosage for Heart Attack -- given his size -- would be around 1 Tablespoon (given as a hot tea or placed directly under the tongue). PT002 indicated to this author shortly after initial dosing that his heavy feeling from the chest was taken away. So, given that, his vitals, and his past woes, a diagnosis of Angina (clogging of the arteries from the chest area) was not too difficult to figure.
Ice cream with about 1 cup of Red Raspberries (x2/ day) -- for enticing him to eat something. That's about all he would eat. Red Raspberries -- at 1 cup/ week doses are noted to hold off Prostate Cancer for one week due to the Ellagic Acid content.
8 oz. Advanced Nutritional Drink (Ensure knock off) x 2 / day --- for 250 calories with many vitamins; Easy on the stomach. Given for dietary compensation and malnutrition.
NOTE: The health food gurus would scream murder here, but you go with what you have available at the time and what the patient wants.
Misc. solid foods and soup -- pumpkin pie, chicken, anything fairly soft that he would eat.
NOTE: This is pretty much medical heresy here. Standard procedure would be to run the patient to the local Emergency Room, install an IV, scan him, and maybe later give him acid blocking medications. The idea of dumping hot chili pepper or solid foods down the throat of an internally bleeding man is just crazy to most doctors. Most doctors will tell you that Cayenne burns the stomach and causes ulcers. To the contrary, the herb acts to equalize blood pressure and tends to zoom in upon wounded areas or illness by facilitating blood circulation. By equalizing blood pressure when taken internally, it reduces local area blood pressure at the site of a wound and facilitates clotting. When placed directly in contact with a wound, Cayenne also facilitates clotting. A strange herb it is.
How can one herb do so many things? Because an herb is usually a mixture of sometimes hundreds of drugs -- known and unknown. Cayenne is also loaded with the healing properties of Vitamin C. It is among the most powerful of agents in any medical bag with the ability to even help revive the dead. The amateur (such as this author) who masters it easily outperforms the best ER doctors and paramedics. Saving lives or healing folks becomes rather routine when armed with just a few herbs, vitamins, and basic medic tools. The M.D. who masters it becomes a world-class physician. The combat medic who takes heed of the agent and applies it will surely save his buddies. Along with homeopathic remedies, multivitamins, specific vitamins, and Vitamin C, Cayenne should be a required powder in the first aid kit of all soldiers. When medics master this one herb, they will be able to reduce their useless pack load by a few pounds while working wonders.
The biggest problem with Cayenne given to Heart Attack patients is that, by the time paramedics arrive to do an EKG, there is no evidence of a heart attack and the victim may not get the appropriate care for severe Arteriosclerosis. However, a daily dose of 1/4 to 1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne pepper is known for repairing Arteriosclerosis better than anything else.
4/24/06 UPDATE: I would also add that Cayenne is a very powerful STIMULANT and caution must be used with adrenal cases, the weak, the elderly, those allergic to the herb, or among potential contraindications with other medicine. It's a very powerful medicine which intantly clears a stuffy nose, but this author has noted it too strong and harsh on the adrenal glands at times when using for Hayfever. It should also not be used long-term or in continual fashion. Best when cycled as part of a variety diet. A great many symptoms are noted for Cayenne (Capsicum) poisoning in the homeopathic materia medicas.
11/30/03 --Added 40 mg of PT's existing Ginko Biloba (x 1/ day) -- for blood pressure reduction and general health. Normal dosage is about 3 per day.
12/01/03 -- Added 500 mg Vitamin C + Echinacea (50 mg Purpurea, 35 mg angustifolia, 15 mg angustifolia) -- for general health and Immune System boost against Prostate Cancer.
NOTE: Cayenne and Vitamin C were meant to slow and halt bleeding in the GI tract. The Cayenne, Vitamin C, Red Raspberries, and Echinacea were meant to slow the growth of the PT's prostate cancer and thus reduce bleeding from the urinary tract (suspected tumor aggression in the bladder and also possibly in the GI tract). However, there may have been no Prostate Cancer aggression and the urinary tract bleeding was more likely from the kidneys or prostate.
The above dosing seemed to greatly improve the patient's strength and totally eliminate his bleeding in both the stool and urine within about 2 to 4 hours and as expected.
On 12/01/03, this author talked PT001 into going to a hospital to at least establish his blood test, get an EKG and see what any X-rays or CT scans would show. After several hours of observation, ER discharged him saying he was "okay". Blood tests showed acceptable EKG, X-rays showed nothing abnormal, and his blood tests showed only low CK Total (33 IU/L), slightly low Creatinine (0.6 mg/dL), slightly low Lymphocytes(19%), and low Eosinophils (0.7%). While there, the PT was without his medications and in much pain. The civilian doctor could not prescribe his stronger federal pain killers, so he gave 2 Aspirin instead.
When we arrived home, PT002 was bleeding all over again at about 1/4 cup of blood lost in the stool. It was then that this author suspected Aspirin as being too rough on his guts (This author's father and aunt both suffered bleeding ulcers from excessive Aspirin consumption and, knowing the PT, he has been taking Aspirin and similar for years on end -- often just munching on them as he pleased.)
I then banned all Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, and Acetaminophen -- nothing allowed other than VA pain killers and existing meds. A dose of 1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper was administered again. And, again, the bleeding subsided and vanished within a couple hours.
After additional interview, the PT's evening medication (especially Ibuprofen at 800 mg doses) was deemed suspect since he reported being fine by day and then usually bleeding in the morning. This author's suspicion remains with the PT's previous night medications causing irritation and bleeding ulceration to the lower GI tract (or old wounds) and possibly also urinary tract to lesser degree. The PT also has a plastic tube stitched into his abdomen and holding his guts together where the AK-47 round once penetrated and the earlier medications may have been eroding those areas.
After a couple days of no bleeding and general improvement, PT002 was then left with pre-packaged doses taped to his refrig and a 30 day supply of Cayenne, Vitamin C, multivitamins, and nutrition drinks. The recipe assigned was as follows:
4000 mg Vitamin C per day (2000 mg in the a.m. and eve with dinner). * Cancer patients usually need a megadose far more than this, but 4000 mg is the rock bottom megadose used for most disease in most people. Too much Vitamin C megadose too soon can also kill a cancer patient, and so a conservative approach was favored with this already weakened patient.
1 adult multivitamin (a.m.). Wimpy supermarket variety.
1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne with each meal.
1/2 cup of red raspberries per day with ice cream if desired (though sugar is not good for his cancer).
8 oz nutritional drink (whenever weak or not eating) -- preferably avoided due to sugar content.
Avoidance of all refined sugars.
No canned sodas or anything with sugar other than fruit.
Home cooked meals only. No processed foods such as boxed cereal.
40 mg Ginko Biloba (3 per day; 1 with each meal).
1 walk and fresh air daily.
500 mg Vitamin C with Echinacea (x3 per day with each meal).
1 clove of Garlic per day with each meal.
Onions and Oregano spread liberally onto all steaks, poultry, and other meals.
1 cup of Green Tea per day (No coffee).
Daily fiber intake -- all dark green, deep red, or orange veggies; Avoid beans.
Brown rice now and then.
1 quart of water or fruit juice per day -- enough to urinate 2-3 times/ day with no bleeding.
Daily stool exam. Where bleeding, add another 1/4 TSP of Cayenne.
Drink orange juice and nutrition drinks -- or even sugar loaded cookies -- where weak from bleeding.
Follow up with normal VA doctor for scans and labs.
This recipe worked for the week under my supervision and the following 7 days where the medicines were prepackaged for the PT. After that, he deviated from the recipe and his bleeding immediately returned in both stool and urine as this author expected might happen after leaving. PT002 had called a VA advice nurse who told him that Cayenne was horrible, dangerous, insane, and could possibly endanger the plastic tube in his guts -- maybe even form a blood clot. So, he listened to the nurse, took his previous medications, and continued bleeding. Eventually, he called this author and was told to go back on the Cayenne. He listened and his bleeding stopped again.
His VA doctor -- previously a Mexican herbalist -- read this author's recipe and approved of the Cayenne since he knew of the value to it. He then told PT002 that he could take a different kind of Aspirin and see how that worked.
12/20/03 -- PT002 called this author noting that he was on revised VA medication and still taking 2 Cayenne with each meal, 2 -4 Vitamin C per day, and 1 multivitamin per day. PT stated he was not bleeding anymore.
12/22/03 -- Because he liked them so much, PT002 was consuming 2-3 packs of red raspberries/ day (purchased on 12/19/03, stored 12/20, and eaten from 12/21 to 12/22.) PT then started bleeding in the urine but not in the stool. He stated that he had 2 Cayenne pills (1/4 TSP) for breakfast and was experiencing some blood in the morning from his urine; None in the stool. He consumed 2 Cayenne with lunch and had no bleeding at all. By evening, he forgot to take Cayenne and was again seeing urine in his blood. PT stated that he was bleeding still from his urine at times despite 3 dishes of red raspberries (having recently eaten a whole container). This author then revised his recipe as follows:
A simpler "2, 2, and 2" pill schedule -- 2 Vitamin C/ 2 Cayenne/ 2 multivitamins per meal.
No ice cream. No sugar.
No red meat.
Diet to be excessive in Broccoli, tomatoes, up to 10000 mg Vitamin C/ day (if desired but taken slowly and reduced if Diarrhoea develops), cauliflower, orange and dark green veggies.
Vitamin D, CoQ10, Zinc, Evening Primrose Oil, Panax Ginseng, and Licorice Root were mentioned but not suggested at that time due to patient confusion. These remain in reserve.
The PT's bleeding then again subsided through the time of this writing on 12/29/03. Treatment strategy has been to simply slow down and reverse his bleeding as a sign of Prostate Cancer aggression and to keep the patient as strong as possible until he is ready to see this author's favorite "Quack" Doctor (DR001 from the Multiple Myeloma report).
It is a little far-fetched to think this particular patient will carry out the more extreme tactics and lifestyle changes required in curing cancer. He is grumpy, tired, and doesn't care if he lives or dies but enjoys seeing his grandchildren. If we can keep him from bleeding so much, his dizziness and falling incidents seem to have subsided and that should keep him out of nursing homes for a time more while stretching out his lifespan a bit. If the stubborn bear takes his medicine religiously, maybe we can at least keep his Prostate Cancer in check while total remission is not likely. Maybe we can keep his arteries from clogging up for awhile more while total regression of Arteriosclerosis is too ambitious in this patient.
Stroke, heart attack, and inactivity leading to cancer aggression or additional tumor development are the primary dangers with this patient. But, as with any war, sometimes you have to be content with partial victories and move right along. No bleeding and another day is good enough for today.
28 JAN 04 UPDATES
Still no blood in stool. PT much better. Slight blood in urine now and then. Very faint. PT deviates from protocols given, though. PT reminded to consume 4000 mg Vitamin C + 6 Centrum Multivitamins per day + 1/2 cup of red raspberries per day. PT says he will, but follows the protocols as he recalls. PT to follow up and send additional labs. PT deviated from the "2,2,2" formula. PT has also been seeing a new VA doctor (the former Mexican herbalist?) who agreed entirely with my treatment and told the disbelieving PT to stick to the Cayenne. Doctor also suspected aggression of Prostate Cancer in the bladder areas or some other problem (possibly botched earlier surgery). VA doctor re-adjusted meds from there.
25 FEB 04 UPDATES
PT reports still no blood in stool and doing much better. Slight blood in the urine now and then. VA has him under scheduled surgery and who knows what anymore. I reminded PT to again go back on the earlier protocols and maybe his urine bleeding would go away, but PT forgets. The more serious bowel bleeding is at least fully gone and healed now.
Experimental data in regard to Prostate Cancer suppression remains as is stated herein. Data is inconclusive with no PSA count. It is not even known what the cause of bleeding in his urine may be from at this time. Could have been from long-term kidney inflammation? All that is known is that the bleeding did seem to subside a bit under the listed regimen. A multi-pronged attack upon Prostate Cancer, malnutrition, anemia, cancer, and general organ & tissue repair via Vitamin C was performed.
03 OCT 04 UPDATES
PT reports still no blood in stool. Slight blood in urine now and then. VA recently performed what the patient reports as his "75th surgery" to remove the plastic tube holding together his intestine (old AK-47 wound). PT is recovering well and has been under VA care. Angina and high blood pressure continue to go uncorrected. This author does not nag the patient too much regarding diet, exercise, and protocols since he generally prefers to be dead anyhow. For now, we just try to get him enjoying life, to eat all the red meat or whatever he desires, to get more fresh air, to toss in some extra Cayenne pepper, to consume more water and Vitamin C, to spend more time with his grandchildren, and maybe to find himself some pretty girl to nurse him. If he is not engaged in fist fights with five VA cops and has not killed anyone from day to day....this is good enough.
UPDATE
As of Feb 2006, PT's condition remains about the same. No bleeding in stool anymore. Initial homeopathic case intake and symptoms survey reports dizziness when getting up from a lying rest or getting up too fast (Hypoadrenal? Possible medications? More likely from poor blood circulation, arteriosclerosis, and low BP in the region of the heart and brain upon rising.). Same aches and pains among old wounds. Hips hurt. Lost 50 pounds this year 257# to 207#; Was too fat anyway, but why is he losing weight? Knees, hip, and arm hurt. No blood in urine lately. VA to operate on him back in 7 Jan -- kidney stones & urinary tract. Fell on 12/24/05 from being dizzy. Awaiting Chuck's arrival at the ranch for further review.
STATUS: Alive and well as of 3/18/06. Still tinkered upon here and there by VA. Bleeding when deviating from the earlier vitamin and herb protocol. May soon try Advanced Classical Homeopathy in relief of his woes, but I await his personal visit to the ranch so we can do a more complete case intake.
UPDATE: Chuck passed away on 3/24/06, just 6 days after we spoke on the telephone. He checked into a VA hospital for kidney stone work while telling friends he "had a bad feeling about it". He came out of surgery just fine, was strong, and joking around. A nurse later found him dead and clutching a prescription pill bottle -- suspecting the wrong medication was prescribed. Chuck's family then accused VA of killing him, and so, whether intentional cover-up or not, his body was shipped out for cremation before any autopsy was completed. We will miss our good friend and my Confirmation godfather. With 3 Purple Hearts, 3 Silver Stars, and so many wounds gathered in life or among family, he was among the best of Marines and no longer lives in pain. He was a tough, tough Marine who swore by Jesus and Mary as behind his invincible streak. He died peacefully in his sleep after saying his prayers as he predicted he would.
