Hi There,
I saw your note in the dog cancer group, and I'm interested in learning more. My dog is an elderly shepherd mix, and although I haven't had a biopsy on the many, many skin and muscle tumors, I would be willing to bet he has fibrosarcoma. I've worked in veterinary medicine for 21 years, and his symptoms fit. I can get a biopsy if he qualifies, but have been looking for ways to prolong his life. He also has chronic renal failure, and is very thin. He currently takes CoQ10, Omega 3s and Winstrol to increase his appetite and has done well, but I would like other options if possible.
Sincerely
Chris
------------
Hi Chris,
Well, welcome aboard. I'll be happy to help you where I can.
[CENSORED]
As for what I can do for your doggy, I dunno yet. All I really need to know is this primary condition of skin and muscle tumors. The name is not so critical. A biopsy would help. The renal failure is another symptom
and pathology important to know. Emaciation. That's another. Low appetite. That's another.
Tell you what. I'll start hunting for a medicine to match the present symptoms and pathology reported. In the meantime, drop on by my website. Study everything. That'll give you a better clue as to the kind of quackery that I pursue. There's a case intake form there. If you could fill that out, that'll give me better information I'm seeking on the dog. You'll help cover me legally on this matter of quack yapping over interstate lines by just signing off that you understand I'm just your "research assistant" here generating "theoretical prescriptions". Medicine is cheap and you can probably get most locally. I don't charge. We'll just see how it goes.
Talk to you later and I'll get back to you with some information. If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for the help. If its of any help, I'm a 21 year veteran of veterinary medicine, and have developed a great interest in clinical nutrition, and have seen it resolve many problems in sickly pets. If I were to simply guess as to why type of tumor, my likely guess is a fibrosarcoma. Its been slow growing, and the supplements have been holding it at bay, however I think it is progressing into his nervous system as he is developing weakness in his rear, this is complicated though because I got his as a stray that had a very serious pelvic fracture, and his symptoms could be the encroachment of arthritis. He's not a good candidate for radiographs, he gets very upset and I don't want to sedate him. I've seen sick animals die after the stress of aneasthesia, so I would like to limit this unless absolutely necessary.
I will check out your site. Hope that we can be of mutual help.

Okay,
Here's what I have so far:
Advanced Classical Homeopathy in India, in humans, has scored 77% success rates against Lymphoma (if in the skin in dogs, lymph may be an issue as most cancer arises from corruption of blood and lymph); 71% against Melanoma, and 80% against skin cancer in general. Cancer in the mediastinum (abdominal muscular and somewhat similar where cancer enters the muscle tissue) scores about 73%. So far, your dog is in the easy cancer range compared to more serious organ cancers. I don't have your Case Intake Form yet and am wondering why the emaciation is an issue. Likely a lot of other chronic disease symptoms and pathology before the cancer. Note: renal failure tends to occur in severe burn victims where the skin is lost. Any hampering of the ability of the skin to shed toxins from the body only taxes the kidneys all the more. The renal failure (earlier?) and problems in the skin prior to cancer may be related. I dunno.
Skin Cancer Primary Remedies:
Arsenicum bromatum -- for squamous & basal cell carcinomas, melanomas, radiation effects on skin. Skin redness, burning, ulceration but no infection.
Arsenicum iodatum -- for infected skin, lesions, sloughing, necrosis. Systemic skin infection. Alteration of total WBC count, differential and erythrocye. Also useful in cancer of the prostate, bladder (renal cancer and failure relation), and lung cancer. Useful in urinary tract infections (known to cause renal failure if left lingering) and bascess or infected lungs.
QUESTION: Have you noted any dry, scaly, itching skin in the dog? Marked exfoliation in large scales leaving a raw exuding surface beneath? Enlarged glands? Psoriasis? Pustule formation? I see this psoriasis, pustules, arthritis, and emaciation a lot in elderly goats. This remedy would also help a bit with the emaciation. Probably the best fit for the dog, but I can't tell just yet without further information.
Relevant Drainage Remedies:
Skin -- Arsenicum (easily available local to you), Cinnabaris, Condurango, Galium aparine, Kali arsenicum, Petroleum, Scrofularia nodosa, Radium bromide, Thuja (local to you).
Liver -- Chelidonium, Cholesterinum, Choline, Carduus marianas, Lycopodium
(local), Taraxacum.
Lymphatic glands -- Carbo animalis
Glands -- Calc. fluorica, Iodum, Scrofluria nodosa.
Detox Kit by Heel, Inc. -- Though objectionable to most classical homepaths, this one has a nice soup mix which is designed to help clear out the kidneys and lymphatics in humans. I can personally tell you that it sure feels like it does that well. Kit runs about $30 through a few online sources. Or, I could mail you a few drops from my stock here at no charge and you could multiply it out in medicinal solution.
....Can't say which to go with just yet without further information but probably one primary remedy initially, a couple drainage remedies over time, some auto-nosode work, and then other remedy considerations based in symptoms and pathology reported.
Renal Failure, chronic -- I really need other information here. Homeopathy doesn't really deal with pathology terms like that. Is it from Nephritis? Need some other urinary tract symptoms and pathology notes. Some good remedies there for chronic Nephritis might be Arsenicum album, Colchicum, many others. Would need to ask you more questions.
Appetite loss -- strong remedies for that include Arsenicum album, Chelildonium, Nux Vomica, Pulsatilla, Rhus Toxicodendron, Lycopodium, Ignatia.
....For now, I'm thinking you could hit the dog a bit with some gentle Nux Vomica 12C in medicinal solution (as I'll teach you later). That's a good case opening wedge for chronic diseases and will help with the appetite. Something you can do while waiting for remedies to arrive in the mail. That's available locally in any health food store for about $7. Or, you could purchase online a $30 Detox Kit which will help drain the kidneys and lymphatics while it also has low potency Nux in it. Either one should get the appetite going again which is the first start.
...From there, I'd go with a single dose of blood and urine nosode on separate days. I'll have to teach you how to do that. Mostly, you're taking one drop of the dog's blood and one drop of his urine. Dilute and succuss that down in spring water into a remedy to take. A very powerful self-vaccination there against toxins in the blood and urine; Helps put things back into balance. Cheap medicine there. All you need is a syringe and some little bottles.
...After that, it's a question of which primary cancer pathology remedy is best to apply and which other remedies are most suitable over time as the condition changes. I'd probably go with Nux, for now. Then, the blood/urine autonosode. Then, a skin drainage remedy or detox kit. Thuja you could get locally for that, too. Nosodes help with drainage, too. Then, a move into maybe Arsenicum iodatum. Too soon to say.
* Arsenicum Album might be a more suitable remedy to apply initially to the appetite problem rather than Nux. It covers many skin issues -- burning, swellings, eruptions, pustules, ulceration with offensive discharge, psoriasis, coldness, epithelioma, gangrenous inflammations.
* Remember that no remedy is ever a true match which covers all symptoms. Where we work to erase most of the symptoms, what I find usually happens is that the remnant disease energy then flows -- much like water or electricity -- along the path of least resistance, and so the untouched and subtle symptoms usually rise to the surface. At that point, you squash them down with rotation to another remedy. The trick is not to push the patient into complications faster or stronger than you can medicinally respond, and so I tend to favor a more repetititive low doser style. Starting out first around 12C in liquid for the weak. Then, moving up to 30C, and then into the LM 0/1 scale or sometimes straight to LM 0/1. If, the patient is fairly strong, sometimes you can go with 200C potencies in water, but I suspect this cancer curing doctor in India is killing the weak cancer patients like that.
* I'd also ask you to do me the favor of making a list of observations you can make which tell you where the animal is at now versus when improved. How do we know we're curing him? How do we even know the exact condition
and cancer? Do you have any X-rays now? Any official diagnosis? Any blood test and urinalysis data? Try to establish a baseline now. That way, over time, we can know with certainty how the animal is doing under the
remedies.
Talk to you later,

This dog is thin, and has numerous small lumps everywhere, including a lobulated firm mass in the triceps femorus area of the left rear. He was treated for heartworms in January, and had a large tennis ball sized mass removed from his right elbow because it was infected and necrotic. He is thin, but has successfully managed to gain 2-3 pounds since removing the first mass and heartworm treatment, though he is still underweight. His appetite has improved some since starting Coq10 and Omega 3, but is still less than it ought to be. He has had an extremely serious pelvic fracture that healed slowly without surgical intervention, but has some lingering neurolic deficit in his rear legs that appears to be worsening. |
|
Tell me about the animal's normal personality and behaviors. It is normally aggressive? Destructive? Timid? Playful? What does it do all day normally? |
He is normally a quiet dog, but loves to take his evening walk, and appears depressed if he is unable to go on it. He polices the other dogs (I have four) and barks at them if they run, he seems to esp. not like this. He sleeps alot but he is an older dog. |

pale clear frequent urination. bad breath (has severe dental tarter, cannot address due to his health problems) normal bms. Pants frequently with exertion |
|
Are the tumors hard and stony or soft and pus-like? |
firm, within the skin without being attached to underlying layers, exc. one in rear is 2-3 cm flattened and firmly attached to underlying layers. |
|
Is there a history of famililal cancer in the dog's pack? |

|
Tell me about this dog's medical history, vaccination history, symptom and pathology history (Here, give me the names D.V.M.'s have given): |
Rabies, Dhpp given 2003, none since. |
|
Okay, now, in our own words describe to me the worst symptom or condition that YOU observe in the animal. I don't want to hear disease names and theories; Just the facts; Just what you see in regard to the most severe symptoms in the animal. Forgetting the cancer or ailment names, if you could cure up to 10 sufferings in this animal right now, what would they be and list them in priority order? |
Right now the worst symptom is his lack of ability to put on weight, and weakness in rear legs. |
|
Is there anything which seems to make any of those symptoms worse? What? When? How? |
lack of his walk makes the weakness worse. Different foods make him eat much less, thankfully he likes the K/D |
|
Is there anything which makes those symptoms better? What? When? How? |
going for his walk. |

Thanks for taking your time to help! Joe dog appreciates it and so do i . Chronic renal failure is a fancy way of saying that the kidneys are not removing toxins effectively, and they are slowly getting worse. The cause for many animals vary's, though age seems to be the most common factor (though I think diet is also a source of some renal failures) The diet he is on is lower protein, though I am probably mucking it up by giving him canned, but this has been the only way of keeping him consistently eating all of his food. Also he has been chronically anemic when I have checked his blood, although by his mucous membrane color he is improving. I will be bringing him in this week for labwork. You are welcome to see the labwork if you will provide a fax number I would be happy to send what I have.
As far as his skin/hair. He has a history of extremely dry hair, and his skin feels a bit thin to me, though not the worst I've ever encountered. He doesn't have any lesions. Its a little better since starting the various supplements, but not great yet. It also tends to be sparse. He did have a little bit of dandruff but that seems to have cleared up.
He is not a strong patient, in fact I often think of him as being fragile like glass. The smallest thing seems to push him over the edge. I tried adding alpha lipoic acid to his supplements, and it made him feel very bad and required him to get fluids, so I want to help him gently as possible. I will investigate these remedies you have mentioned.

Hi Chris, Okay, I'm finished with an initial remedy strategy for Joe. The scan below covers some relevant remedies. As mentioned before, Arsenicum iodatum would probably be the most applicable remedy for the cancer. On studying your new information and the case intake form, I think Nux Vomica would be the best starting remedy. Then, a motion into Arsenicum album. No remedy is ever really a perfect match. My style differs greatly from what most classical homeopaths would tell you. Part is experimental. Most is based in studies. Remedy rotation, in proper form, is how Dr. Hahnemann did things later in his life, but that's not commonly known. Anyhow, Nux Vomica is the overall best fit at this point to help with the appetite (but not the emaciation which is secondary to appetitie). Nux should help with weakness of the lower back, pelvic area, and legs but not much with arthritic woes. We can hit that later. Nux Vomica is also a good case opener for chronic disease and monkey wrench remedy that covers many ailments -- particularly GI tract woes which are usually around as Alarm Stage symptoms long prior to cancer pathology. Homeopathy usually sees three states to disease progression: 1) Alarm Stage, 2) Pathology development, 3) Finally, the Exhaustion phases. Joe's cancer seems to be mostly pathology developed from earlier alarm stage conditions that are in exhaustion, but his cancer at this point isn't terribly bad. I consider the kidney issue more serious. He can take more cancer growth and spread, but, when those kidneys go, that's it. When they're failing him, the blood is more dirty and he'll have a harder time eliminating tumor byproducts which only snowballs cancer pathology. You noted treating his kidney issue with less protein in the diet? Therefore, I selected the condition of kidney degeneration due to fatty, serum amyloid deposits more so than nephritis but also gave nephritis consideration in the selection of Nux and Arsenic. My chart below is a mixture of Kent and Boenighaussen prescribing models. Kent used to rapidly prescribe looking for the most odd, striking, and peculiar symtpoms of a case. He also gave heirarchy to symptoms according to the mental generals, physical generals, and any odd discharges. The patient's mental state always takes priority over the physical. Discharges sometimes are more important to note because their oddity usually relates to serious vitality reducing conditions. Finally, there are the physical symptoms and peculiarities. Boenighaussen used to survey the whole among a very detailed case while using Kent's standout rubrics to narrow down to a remedy. Usually, both methods intersect as you go along and stretch out the reported symptoms and history of a case. With non-verbal animals, you can only go so far. Nux Vomica, overall, makes the most sense at this point. Because the Nux does not completely match with the full symptom set, we can expect alleviation of the symptoms it touches while the others worsen a bit. That's why we should go with low potency dosing in medicinal solution -- especially with Joe weak. This will keep from driving any aggravation too hard and also prevent pushing the other symptoms too far into aggression before hit on subsequent medicinal passes. I expect the cancer pathology and/or the renal issue along with other subtle symptoms might worsen slightly while under the Nux. Maybe not because Nux should improve his vitality and function in short order, but, if we prescribed it in too high a strength, that would probably become the case. At this point, I just favor the course of first getting him stronger and further away from the deathbed with gentle medicinal tugs. Then, he'll be more tolerant of medicinal adjustments, nosodes, sarcodes, and all else. Arsenicum album would probably be the second remedy to apply, but we should not do that robotically -- only as the symptoms call for it and I suspect they will because the renal pathology is deeply entrenched. So, we should spend a little time and adjustments in Nux first. After that, not exactly sure. A couple options:
1) Rotate directly into Arsenicum album. 2) Or, move into nosode and sarcodes with Arsenicum album applied later. 3) Maybe some drainage remedies. 4) Then, some cancer-specific remedies. 5) Then, motion to other remedies as needed.
I think you'll start to see immediate improvement on the Nux. A bit later, you should be able to measure some renal improvement. The cancer pathology is slow growth and so will be slow in remission. NODOSES & SARCODES (Isopathy) Once stronger under Nux and/or Arsenicum album, I'd first hit him with a blood and urine auto-nosode. Probably 12C potency once daily in medicinal solution. That's just a drop of his blood made into a homeopathic remedy; Same for a drop of the urine. If you can find 12 little bottles about 20 mL each, that makes it easy to make remedies at home. www.sciplus.com sells them. You should also withdraw a small sample from the tumor by syringe -- just enough to get about a water drop size of some of the matter. This, I'll teach you to prepare in those bottles just the same as the blood and urine nosodes. It's pretty much a homeopathic vaccine against his specific tumors. No point using nosodes like Carcinosin or Scirrhinum when you have his own tumor cultures so easily available for biopsy. If you're going to get a biopsy, keep some of the sample for homeopathic nosode and also vaccine preparation (by modified variolation). One drop of the biopsy you'll work into homeopathic nosode (also called sarcode, depending upon one's perspective). If you have ample biopsy material there from excision, you could also go with boiling the tumor matter until well pasturized. All we need is the tumor cell wall ruptured. Then, you can blend that with water and squirt it up his nose and mouth ancient Chinese vaccination style. That'll tap the nasal, mouth, throat, and GI tract immunity fully and long before (or without) entering the bloodstream. Between nosode use, the vaccination, and boosted vitality, his system might start to seek out the cancer cells again -- giving a steeper remission trend with less die off severity. DRAINAGE REMEDIES Organ-specific drainage remedies are important as cancer is killed off. These help evacuate tumor byproducts from the system -- helping shed amyloid deposits away from the kidneys, lymphatics, and liver. ...Then, we just cycle around as needed or as seems most suitable. That's about it. FIRST DOSE YOU CAN START NOW I'd go with just this for now: 1) Go to your local health store and pick up a vial of Nux Vomica 6X and also 12C (not 30C). For the first test dose and pretty broad effect, give Joe a little Nux Vomica 6X. Just one pellet dissolved in a glass of 7 tablespoons of spring water. Stir that and take one teaspoon from there into another dilution glass filled with 7 tablespoons spring water. Stir well. Then give Joe one teaspoon dose of the Nux Vomica. Note the date and time. Observe for any negative and positive reactions. The X potency medicine will kick in from 10 minutes to a few hours unless he's really sensitive. See how he reacts to that first dose. If you see no reaction or a very subtle positive reaction -- particularly in appetite and overall function -- then, do the same on the next day but using a pellet of Nux Vomica 12C instead (by the 7 TBS/ 7TBS twin dilution glass method). Again, note the date and time. Here, the medicine will kick in within about 15 to 30 minutes, primary action will last over several hours, and then taper off within a day or often more. STOP HERE. DO NOT REPEAT ANY DOSING. Let me know what happens. Call me if you want. What you don't want to do is interfere with the previous dose by applying a second dose. We don't want to just mindlessly dose Joe at say one teaspoon a day at this point. Once we have an idea of the medicinal curve as it rises and falls in efficacy -- with Joe feeling better -- then we'll maybe observe that he needs the remedy every 3 to 4 days or so (rather than once daily). 2) From there, we can split the dose and apply more frequently to build power. We can raise the dilution or increase succusions for a deeper reach -- all within the 12C spectrum. After about 2 weeks to a month of dosing like this, significant improvement in symptoms (but maybe not cancer pathology) should be noted. He should be eating better and stronger. The remedy repetition will start to plateau. If carried on too long beyond that, Joe will start to worsen -- entering into a "proving" condition. We want to stop right at the plateaus and keep building up medicinal power gently in Nux while also making a sweep into other remedies and tactics while still at this level. * By these liquid methods developed by Dr. Hahnemann in the 5th & 6th edition Organon of Medicine, we're able to go in gentle, tightly confine the remedy's power so as to stay just under aggravation limits, repeat the dose frequently and speed the cure without erasing the power of previous doses. More important than that, we adjust the X and C scale's medicinal power away from amplitude and spread that remedy energy out over time through further dilution. This shifts the peak power of the particular dose and cumulative dosing into time lag so that any aggravation occurs later (when the patient is stronger) rather than at the onset of dosing (where the patient is weakest). The methods I've just taught you operate just a bit under the LM 0/1 scale and are a stepping stone on the way there. After we probe around the the X to 12C range (and I suspect Joe will respond well at these levels), then we can hit the gas pedal a little harder and go into 30C in similar liquid form just before crossing into the LM 0/1 scale. I'll have you just take one of those X potency pellets and later mix up an LM 0/1 batch in-house rather than buying. * Envision the potency like spinning the lump of clay that is Joe on a potter's wheel. The more we raise the potency, we add revolutions per minute. Too high a potency and the clay starts to wobble or shoot off the wheel. Control is lost. In severe acute conditions and on the deathbed, high potencies are handy. For the adrenally weak, the frail, the elderly yet functional....you want a slower and more gentle spin. When we add succussion, we increase the torque upon the potter's wheel which can raise the rotation speed. When we add dilution, we put the brakes upon spin. Via the combination or finger pressure, torque, and speed control we properly work the clay -- speeding up as needed, slowing down as needed, applying different remedy finger pressures and tactics as needed. The objective is to reshape the patient's vitality and symptom picture without losing control. High potency prescribing -- while rapidly miraculous -- often drives the potter's wheel too fast and requires equally aggressive countermeasures when you botch things. It's inappropriate for long-distances like this where you are not personally at the patient's bedside and cannot render antidote rapidly. Very dangerous. Low potency prescribing -- especially by robot, repetitive dry dosing -- is very slow, weak, inept, and mediocre overall but sometimes convenient. Dr. Hahnemann developed his liquid delivery system to bridge the gap and to provide us with a full tool box. My philosophy is that, if you can establish control of the clay on the wheel, it doesn't really matter much how fast or slow you spin. And, for deeply entrenched chronic ailments which developed over many years -- pretty much the lifetime of the dog -- it takes time to correct. All this 200C and high power prescribing -- even in liquid -- tends to just break the weak cases. If you look over those statistical cancer cures for the best homeopathy in India, that's what they're doing. You'll notice that all the weak vitality cancer cases have the lowest survival rates. Meanwhile, many of those losses were to ruptured arteries. I believe it from weakened adrenals, low blood pressure, and debility overall that occurs with those cancer forms. Hormones on the low side, malnutrition, blood vessels more flexible and thinner walled under such weakened, consumptive, and malnourished states. Hit the gas pedal too hard and the hoses rupture with overexertion. Best to stick in the 12C to LM 0/1 or so range with Joe most the way through, I think. * Usual timeframes for remission: Whatever develops in a year, figure one month to reverse by a slow and gentle course. Joe being 12 years old and sick in some form since birth, it should only take about 1 year to clean most everything up and restore him to an optimum state for his age -- the best he can possibly be -- if all is done really well. If the most recent acute symptoms happened say in 6 months, figure a couple weeks to clean that up. Generally, lightly entrenched acute woes take minutes to reverse (such as hayfever sneezing and sniffles or influenza symptoms; pain relief). Deeper acute entrenchement takes a couple days to see improvement (such as a urinary tract infection with inflammation). The more chronic, the deeper the entrenchement. The deeper the entrenchment, the more high potency over short duration or low potency over longer time is required. For now, I would guess at hours to a day or so under a test dose to see appetite, spirit, and function improvement. About a week or two under repetitive dosing to see more significant improvement in the weak legs, urinary frequency, and bad breath from probably GI tract disharmony. Probably another couple months under Arsenicum album, nosodes, and drainage remedies to see any positive renal change in the bloodwork. Cancer pathology should back off from there alone before even applying cancer-specific remedies over time. You should see nice changes right away and through a couple months. The rest will probably take a year or so of slight adjustments to clean up, but I think will be hastened by the nosodes and especially if you want to make him a vaccine from any excision or syringe withdrawl. At age 12, he is a doggy senior citizen, but I'd think you should be able to get more years life out of Joe at that weight. OTHER When Joe's a little stronger, has gained weight, when you have Arsenicum album in-hand, and he is more able to tolerate a couple days stomach sickness...I'd toss him a raw beef bone. Let him drag it through the dirt. Let the flesh rot on the bone. Looks horrible, but they love it and it will help restore the GI tract and skin flora. Lots of pet owners feed their animals fancy raw meat and bone diets, but that's very pricey to feed steak to a doggy! I find the dry and canned food works okay, but the beef bone treat now and then really tightens up digestion. My 120 Rottweiler used to lose weight and was on the skinny side no matter how much you fed him. After the beef bone, he holds and gains weight on just a cup or two of dry daily but needs a little protein supplement. Much less poop. Much less strain on the internal organs and GI tract. Same and better absorption. Talk to you later, Quack
--------
Whoops! Almost forgot to mention: When you apply the remedies and see improvement in the dog, any drugs he is presently taking will become more effective. Around here is where people usually trim back on the medicine. If he's on medications where just a few milligrams too many (such as Digitalis) can be lethal, you have to be really careful when introducing homeopathy. Most homeopaths will tell you there is no drug contraindication, but that's nonsense. As you boost the patient's vitality and cure symptoms, the previous drugs are no longer needed to such degree. This helps people wean off drugs, use less of them while integrating some benefits (such as with cytotoxic drugs or supplements), and can also be destructive. Quack

CASE TIME SPENT TO-DATE: Oh, about an hour. Then, 20 minutes preparing this file for presentation on-line. Follow-ups shouldn't take me too long each time and will be posted here.

Hi,
I'm going to get the nux today, and I will fax what labs I have. I started Joe on some brown rice and chicken for extra calories. He has gotten pretty weak over the last couple of weeks.

On the Nux Vomica 12C. Slight modification to my earlier instructions. Pretty much the same, but I didn't teach you about second dosing. For the first dose, go with the one pellet dissolved in 7 TBS spring water inside a little glass jar with a lid (an old vitamin jar or jelly jar works well). Let the pellet fully disolve. Then, close the lid
and succuss the solution 3 times -- a kind of hammer-shake against a book. Give it a good long stroke and pounding against the book. Not shaking, but pounding. You want that hammer-like impact. After 3 of those, take one teaspoon (or a tablespoon in later repetitions) and transfer that into a dilution glass with 7 TBS spring water. Stir well. You'll administer 1 teaspoon test dose from there.
...This is pretty much the same as I told you before, but I forget if I mentioned much about the subsequent dosing. In subsequent dosing, you'll dump out that dilution glass and start fresh (don't re-use it; the medicine weakens like that). The jar you'll have put in the fridge, so you pull it out again and succuss another 3 times each and every time administering a new dose. You start fresh with a new dilution glass, water, and spoon (or boil the old utensils) each time.
* This is very important in dose repetition as you never want to subject the body to the exact same medicine twice. The shaking in the jar alters the energy of the medicine a bit higher each time. If you did not do that, what you'll notice among repeated study of cases is a gradual and fairly rapid wear off of the strength of each dose. First one goes in strong. Second unchanged dose is about 2/3 the power. Third unchanged dose about 1/3 power and fading off with each dose. As the medicine fades, the patient comes level in condition. As the medicine is repeated beyond that, the patient becomes worse than he was without the medicine. They actually grow worse more rapidly under repetition of liquid methods than if you went with dry dosing. Repetitive dry dosing style is weak all around.
* If you believe Joe to be very weak, you can also take another teaspoon from that first dilution glass and prepare a second dilution glass with another 7 TBS. Or, you can go with a 3rd and 4th dilution glass. The jar is your mother batch. The dilution glasses are what you use fresh with each dose and adjusted to the patient's sensitivity. Joe I would estimate as requiring maybe one to two dilution glasses. The more dilution glasses you use, the more the medicine will go in gentle, faint, and build up in power over time. You can also adjust the succussions upward while expanding outward in dilution glass number in order to achieve strong, yet gentle medicinal power over time. For now, start weak and you can build up in power later as Joe is stronger. You want to produce zero aggravation,
significant improvement, and with plateau or slight aggravation only coming on near the end of dosing when he's much stronger.

DR. QUACK NOTES:
Winstrol V 2mg sid -- anabolic steroid.
When using the oral tablets the dose for small dogs is 1 to 2mg per dog per day and for large dogs it is 2 to 4mg per dog, per day. There is surprisingly little information on the effects and side effects of stanozolol in the veterinary literature considering that it has been around a long time. In cats there are reported cases of liver damage that appear to be related to use of the medication. In dogs the only side effects that are reported are "androgenic effects", which might include increased aggression, increased activity, weight gain and mood alterations. We do not use this medication in our practice so I do not have much personal familiarity with it. -- Richards, D.V.M.
HUMAN WINSTROL DRUG INFORMATION
What is the most important information I should know about stanozolol? |
| • | In rare cases, serious and even fatal cases of liver problems have developed during treatment with stanozolol. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience abdominal pain, light colored stools, dark colored urine, unusual fatigue, nausea or vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. These may be early signs of liver problems.
....Liver, pancreas, GI tract effects. |
What is stanozolol? |
| • | Stanozolol is a man-made steroid, similar to the a naturally occurring steroid testosterone. |
| • | Stanozolol is used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema, which causes episodes of swelling of the face, extremities, genitals, bowel wall, and throat. Stanozolol may decrease the frequency and severity of these attacks. |
| • | Stanozolol may also be used for purposes other than those listed here. |
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking stanozolol? |
| • | Do not take stanozolol without first talking to your doctor if you have |
| · | prostate cancer; |
| · | breast cancer; or |
| · | a high level of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia). |
| • | Before taking stanozolol, talk to your doctor if you |
| · | have heart or blood vessel disease; |
| · | have had a heart attack; |
| · | have a high level of cholesterol in the blood; |
| · | have bleeding or blood clotting problems; |
| · | have diabetes; |
| · | take an oral anticoagulant (blood thinner); |
| · | have liver problems; or |
| · | have kidney problems. |

Miracle Cure Can Be Deadly
The best-selling drug known as Rimadyl, which has enjoyed remarkable success as an anti-inflammatory medicine for pets, has been found to be deadly for some dogs, as witnessed by the FDA receiving more than 6,000 bad reaction reports about the drug manufactured by Pfizer. As a result, the FDA requested that Pfizer advise consumers in their advertising that death was a possible side effect. Pfizer refused and pulled their advertising, however they have included "death" as a possible side effect on the drug label. Plans call for a "Dear Doctor" letter to be issued to veterinarians and a safety sheet will be attached to pill packages.
Pfizer acknowledges a problem with some dog owners, especially the consumer group which mounted a campaign dubbed BARKS, for Be Aware of Rimadyl's Known Side-effects (including loss of appetite, wobbling, vomiting, seizures and severe liver malfunction). The drug company is reported to be contacting pet owners who have told their stories on the Internet, and is offering to pay medical and diagnostic expenses for some dogs who may have been harmed by Rimadyl.
Rimadyl sales continue to grow as does support from veterinarians. While the drug has proved helpful to many dogs with arthritis, it has proven deadly to some dogs. Make sure if your veterinarian prescribes Rimadyl that you thoroughly discuss the possible side effects so you can carefully monitor your dog's health.

Chris,
1) The Nux vomica should help a little bit with Joe's pancreatic inflammation. Some other remedies: Arsenicum album, ATROPIN, Bar.m., Bell, Calc.ars., Carbo an. Carbo v, Chionanth, IOD, IRIS, Jabor, Kali iod, MERC, Pancreat, PHOS, Piloc, Puls.
2) Hypothyroidism - SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS (HUMAN)
Fatigue
Weakness
Weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight
Coarse, dry hair
Dry, rough pale skin
Hair loss
Cold intolerance (can't tolerate the cold like those around you)
Muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches
Constipation
Depression
Irritability
Memory loss
Abnormal menstrual cycles
Decreased libido....Some hypothyroid remedies: Calcare phos, Calcarea carb, Lapis alb, Iodium, Thyroidinum, Spongia, Lycopus, Calcarea iod.
3) Under California's SB577 legislation which allows me to practice as an unlicensed quack, I cannot advise the discontinuance of scheduled drugs. The law applies to humans, but, being a consumer protection law, I just presume it applies in animal cases, too, and try to keep within the spirit of it. Of course, you are Joe's acting vet here and I can certainly give you my opinion on things in a free country. My opinion is that, if he were my dog, I would slowly discontinue both drugs -- at least for awhile under homeopathy -- to remove any possibility of their impact upon Joe's cancer metastasis, liver function, kidney function, and other systemic unknowns. The position of homeopathy is that any medicine maintained too long -- herbs, pharmaceuticals, and even our own homeopathic remedies -- will eventually impart a medicinal disease and complicate the case with new disease patterns (or side effects and worse).
If Joe is kept under these drugs while homeopathic remedies are applied, the power of those drugs will be boosted -- both in primary actions and side effects.
If Joe is immediately removed from such drugs while homeopathic action has not yet acted upon the symptoms for which the drugs are applied, he would only suffer needlessly. In a case like this, I consider it best to apply the homeopathic remedies first, strengthen up the animal, and wean off the drugs.
...Best strategy I have for Joe right now is that and to start with the Nux vomica as mentioned. After a week or so of that, you could hit him with a blood autonosode, and then rotate into Arsenicum album or Calcarea carbonica depending upon what his symptoms call for at the time and what pathology seems the most critical to attack. From there, the cancer nosode hit, and probably rotation back to Nux vomica (if some symptoms still match) before flowing again into either Arsenicum album or Calcarea carbonica. * Arsenicum album and Calcarea carbonica don't well follow each other, but do flow back and forth nicely with Nux due to the antidotal relationships. The Nux vomica step is a little eraser to wipe Joe clean before moving to another remedy so as not to medicinally distort things. Possibly a rotation into Phosphorous at some point.
...Many suitable ways to go with Joe, but, for now and always, just one remedy at a time. It's important not to let the disease names, diagnosis, and prognosis confuse us. "Cessat effectus cessat causa"....cure the effects and you cure the cause. SYMPTOMS, SYMPTOMS, SYMPTOMS ONLY. What are the most striking and unusual symptoms Joe presents different from a healthy and young dog? These are priority as they bear the bulk of the disease energy regardless of any theories or classifications as to the nature of his diseases. And, what is the most pressing pathology to clean up?
Though they do provide an extension of our clinical senses, lab data like this can confuse our case. We see blood, kidney, and liver data out of whack. We want to do something directly against that. Sticking to symptoms, symptoms, symptoms and clear / striking pathology is difficult discipline to keep.
You reported these two most important symptoms:
Emaciation
Rear leg weakness/ possible arthritic origins
Priority pathology:
Kidney failure
Pancreas
Thyroid
Multiple skin tumors
...Hmm, at this point and based on today's new information, I'm really leaning toward a flow into Calcarea Carbonica after the Nux and some nosode hits rather than moving into Arsenicum album. Nux, to blood nosode, to Calc. carb, to cancer nosode, to Nux again, and then into Arsenicum Album or Phosphorous. Probably a move to Phos instead of Arsenicum album based in the new pancreatic information. That'll more fully cover the total disease picture in optimum fashion. That's the strategy and immediate remedy forecast, but we'll just have to see what his symptoms are at the time of any remedy switch consideration. I'll see if I can dig up a better matched singular remedy for Joe among other materia medicas, but Nux and Calc. Carb are two good chess moves within the applicable and commonly available remedies for now.
