THE ULTIMATE MISSION (Medicinal Synthesis):
Project RAPHAEL is essentially the quest to someday make a Star Trek-like replicator "machine" which cranks out drugs as specified. It's a force multiplying technology. It's already underway in this nation and in others. There's nothing terribly secretive about it at all. It requires an immense spectroscopy effort -- much like the Human Genome Project's mapping -- before greater things can be done. In fact, the state of the Human Genome Project also impacts the spectral data possibilities for Project RAPHAEL. Collection of all data in all materia medicas and transformation also into the electromagnetic realm is the crux of the mission.
For each conventional drug; For each gene; For each herb; For every homeopathic remedy; For every form of illness.... a specific spectral signature cataloged from long Radio to Gamma. The system, of course, requires transducers in the field. Thus, we tend to favor the HF, VHF, UHF, and Microwave bands due to overall civilian access to those receivers and ability to rapidly teach populations to plug-in and download enough to keep them alive until more effective medical help can reach them. We're talking about essentially an I-Pod music system where the .mp3 files downloaded contain drug information which field transducers use to synthesize a drug action. This is possible because the action of any drug is also based in the electromagnetic spectrum. A molecule is not merely a particle, but also a wave (see: Particle / Wave Duality of modern physics). When we begin to view drugs as not just refined powders, but also spectral signatures, medicinal mass production options (and profits) are greatly enhanced. The present inability to save our cities from germ warfare due to inability to produce and supply enough medicine vanishes. What formerly took days, weeks, and months only takes seconds. Prescription drug costs to the poor are also reduced and profits are also maximized. Drugs become copyright information moving at the speed of the Information Superhighway rather than mere powders requiring a package.
These methods, while someday able to greatly speed up medical logistics for supply of the masses, will -- in early stages -- be synthetic tactics not as effective as actual medicine and, in some cases, will probably even be more lethal than the real product. However, once the science is better mastered and tooling better engineered, it is the act of healing with a touch of Light rather than drug. It is the other side of Matter, more powerful, and far more versatile, but just one helluv a project that will take years and even decades. Not at all impossible, however. Just down the road.
